News from the Hub!

Good Morning Partners & Hubbers,

We are delighted to share with you some further news from the Hub!

Hub News

A very fond farewell to Bethan Hooper – we say farewell to Bethan on the 2nd February as she leaves to work with Deloitte. It’s been a pleasure having Bethan in the team, so please join us in wishing her all the very best in her future career!

On the 25th January we will be joined by our newest member to the Hub Team in the form of Rob Heaton, who joins us as Head of Operational Excellence, reporting to myself. Rob brings with him a wealth of experience working within the legal sector, and with a particular skill set in delivery of process enhancements for benefiting service and business performance. Rob has held many senior roles, including at Eversheds, Head of Operations at New Law (start-up), and Operations Director at QED delivering from concept through to a £10m turnover within 3 years. Rob is currently Head of Probate Operations as Co-operative Legal Services, and Rob’s arrival demonstrates Carbon’s real commitment to further development of the business throughout 2017 and beyond. So you can see Rob has the full pedigree in terms of law firm types and development stages. We’ll be sharing more details with you all in the Partner Conference in due course, but in essence Rob’s role will focus on delivery and efficiency of all operational activity within the Carbon Platform, in particular managing the delivery of the Carbon Development Runway. Welcome Rob!

New Partner Portal

As mentioned by Michael in his communication the other week, we’re all very excited about the excellent work Sarah Pomeroy is doing on the enhancements to our Carbon Portal which reflect a key part of the Carbon Runway of Projects for 2017. Things are progressing very well and the launch date for the new look and innovative Carbon Portal will be the 14th February 2017! So what’s new…

  • A new Dashboard style design

  • Dashboard will launch on start up within Citrix and will be accessible from any mobile device

  • Quick access to key process and areas of information

  • Act as our new platform for news bulletins and communications

  • A communication tool for everyone to use

  • A new online shop for you to order services and stationary

  • What’s on Calendar to display important upcoming events

This new dashboard will be released in its infancy, with plans for further developments which we will always communicate to you. Configuration is currently underway so that all of these features will also be available in Carbon Law Partners very own app, available in both iTunes and Google Play store.

In Office Partners

We’d like to welcome both Jon Hill & Joanne Fisher as “In Office Partners” within the Cardiff Office – which brings our total In Office Partner numbers across Cardiff & Bristol to seven.

As you’re aware, Partner Support have been working hard to provide a suite of tools to assist Partners with their Training and Development. We are delighted to announce that our new Training and Development Portal will be launched on Wednesday 1st February 2017. The Training & Development Portal will be accessible via the Carbon Portal and provide you with guidance as well as a method of capturing the required information, for instance:

  • The SRA Competence Statement;

  • Development Record;

  • Development Plan and;

  • Advice on the Declaration to the SRA

Watch out for more communication on this soon!

Richmonte Wells

Finally, just a quick note to advise you that Sally won’t be using her Carbon e-mail going forward, and can be contacted for ongoing coaching via her Richmonte Wells e-mail address.

That’s all the news for now, so here’s to a great end to the first month of the year, or the last quarter of the financial year, whichever way you look at it!

Good luck everyone!
