TIME TO RECHARGE
Its started raining, summer must be here!
The holiday season is a great time to recharge and spend time with family and friends. It helps remind us what’s really important in our lives. It’s also a chance to pause, and take stock, before that back to school feeling rears its head...... closely followed by the run into Christmas.
I’m looking forward to heading off on 4th August for a holiday with my family (although they may not be so keen!). I have been reflecting on how much has happened in the year since the Do Lectures and have been looking forward to what’s on the horizon.
Life is such a great cycle (not just my mad bike ride either). I am delighted to welcome baby Elodie as Carbon’s newest acquisition, congratulations Steff and Matt. Very best wishes also to Lauren as she heads off on maternity leave too. We look forward to seeing lots of baby photos - good luck Lozza!
My suitcase packing beckons, knotted hankies and knitted trunks at the ready….See you all soon.
CONTINUING COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS
As you know, since November 2016 you have not needed to count CPD hours. Instead you now need to be reflective on the quality of your practice and address any learning and development needs that you have. This should be carried out on an ongoing basis with information being recorded on our Training and Development Portal.
In order for your practising certificate to be renewed with the SRA, Michael as COLP, has to answer the following question on your behalf.
Has the individual reflected on their practice and addressed any identified learning and development needs in the year to 31 October 2017?
You would need to answer 'YES' to this question for a certificate to be issued . To get to 'YES' you must have completed your own Continuing Competence Review via the Platform. Then you will need to send an e-mail declaration to confirm that this has been done.
I look forward to receiving your confirmation e-mails.
PLATFORM UPDATE AND NEWS
Back in May at the Annual Partner Meeting we unveiled the MI Dashboards. Now most of you will have had your individual session with Joc to review how this works and how it will help you to build your practice.
We hope that you are finding the Dashboard easy to use. As always, we are on hand to answer any questions that you have.
We are pleased to report the major technology projects also outlined at the Annual Partner Meeting are gathering pace and we will be updating you on their progress soon.
Beckie Cobb has come up with a date for Pitch Training. The first workshop will take place in Cardiff or Bristol on 28th September. Please let Judith know by 8th August if you would like to attend. We will then arrange the venue according to where the majority of attendees are based. Thank you Beckie.
Also thanks all for taking time out for the Flourish Meetings. We hope that you found them as helpful and thought provoking as we did.
As you know we are recruiting a Head of Business Development. We have met some great people and things are progressing. We will keep you posted.
Michael, Owain and Linda.
