WELCOMING A NEW PARTNER TO THE CARBON COMMUNITY.

We're delighted to welcome Elizabeth (Liz) Jones to the Carbon Community. Liz specialises in Legal Costs - both Civil and Commercial. She works with both lay and professional clients contending and seeking recovery of legal costs, and has expertise in civil costs matters from budgeting through to bill drafting, negotiation and litigation. Liz also specialises in Private Client work, which includes Estate Planning and Administration, Wills, Lasting Power of Attorney and Court of Protection matters. TIME TO RENEW.

What’s not to love about October? It brings with it autumnal weather (usually), trick or treating, apple-bobbing and… oh yes...practising certificate renewals. In order for you to continue practising for the next year, it's time to remind you of some important information that we'll need so that you can continue to provide your Clients with the exceptional service that they know and love! As you are aware, the SRA requires that you self-assess your level of competence on an ongoing basis, and undertake regular learning to ensure your skills and knowledge remain up to date. To help you achieve this, we have provided you with a suite of tools via the Training & Development button on the Platform which enable you to Reflect, Create, Do and Record & Submit. The ownership to complete this on a regular basis is your responsibility. Every October, we ask you to complete the final stage of this process - the Declaration. This is your confirmation that you have undertaken the learning activity that you need to maintain your competence in what you do. With that in mind, and in order for us to go ahead and renew your practicing certificate, we would ask you to do the following:

ACTION 1.

Please submit an email to Laura by the 26th October stating the following: “I have reflected on my Practice and addressed any identified learning and development needs." ACTION 2. Make sure that you have opted in to the bulk renewal option in MySRA. This is unfortunately not something that the Hub can do for you and has to be completed by each of you individually. Please ensure you have completed both actions by 26th October.

it's beginning to feel a lot like...

...Christmas! Oh yes it is. We'd like to invite you along to the Hub for some festivities on Friday 14th December. We'll be opening our doors and serving up the bubbles and mince pies from 2.00pm until 5.30pm. We can guarantee festive fun. It's also Christmas Jumper Day, so we expect to see you in your festive knitwear. Please let Judith know if you are able to make it along. We'd love to see you.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT GAINS.

Central Success.

Our new central client acquisition efforts have resulted in 20 new clients referred to Partners over the past 8 weeks, across a wide range of practice areas. Not only that, we’ve also seen some of these new clients return again with wider legal needs as they have really valued how we work. With some key strategic initiatives ongoing, including being the lead sponsor at the upcoming Fast Growth 50 Awards this month, we look forward to continuing to attract more high quality clients to Carbon, benefiting all. More great things to come!

Collaboration is a Winner.

Carbon Partners have been collaborating hard this month to increase both buying power and expertise to entice clients to buy more legal services from Carbon. With multiple cross-practice area pitches and commercial teams assembled, the results are starting to pay off.

  • £25K retainer negotiated with market-leading global BPO client

  • Client pitch delivered for a £70K annual retainer

  • Carbon-exclusive contract request with a global automotive client

  • Corporate transaction worth £30K with a successful industrial sector client

GETTING ANALYTICAL.

Let's look back at what people loved checking out about Carbon in September. The Carbon Law Partners website experienced its best month since our analytics were reset in June. September saw an 8% increase in pageviews and a 9% positive drop in bounce rate. There were also increases in users based in the South East and South West of England, as well as South Wales. Our Flourish With Carbon careers website also saw a jump in pageviews, a 10% increase in pages viewed per session, and another positive drop (16%) in bounce rate. Meanwhile, we continued to grow our follower base across all four (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) of our social platforms. A great month overall. More views. Fewer people immediately leaving the sites. And a bolstered social presence. All supporting our talent and client acquisition initiatives to benefit all.
