We're delighted to let you know that our holding company, Flourish Holdings, has appointed a Chairman. His name is Geoff Miller and, as a non-executive director leading the board, he will be working to prepare our business for the next stage of its growth.

Geoff’s background in picking businesses to invest in and then in building a platform to lend to business gives him great insight into what makes companies succeed. Over the last 3 months, Michael been getting to know Geoff and introducing him to various people in our business to get their views and opinions to make sure that this important appointment is the right fit for our business and its aspirations. Geoff is joining now because he can see what we are capable of achieving together at Carbon and he can help us ensure that Carbon is ready and able to flourish.

If you have any questions about Geoff’s appointment please let Michael know, or better still bring them to QPM next week.

A big Carbon Welcome to Lydia Turner who joins the Hub Team as Business Quality Manager.

Lydia is currently getting up to speed with all things Carbon and will be in touch with Partners in due course to introduce herself. In the meantime, if you have any BQ questions please follow the current process.

Another great week of Passling from Partners. The competition is nearing its close. We wait with bated breath to find out the results from Will and Sarah at Passle HQ.

Brand and Comms are working on a User Guide which, as well as taking you through the technical ins and outs of using Passle, it will help guide you creating great content and how to get the most out of your Passle Posts.

If you have any Passle related queries please get in touch with Brand and Comms.

Hot on the heels of Partner Statements, comes the much-anticipated sequel – “Partner MI Dashboards”. As with Partner Statements, they are driven through PowerBI and are accessible through your Carbon Platform Teams site. The following training videos have been developed in bite-sized chunks to help you navigate and understand the information presented.

Part 1. How to access:

Part 2. Collections & invoicing:

Part 3. Unbilled fixed fees, time & disbursements:

Part 4. Client account, active matters & aged debt:

Part 5. Expected invoice dates:

Part 6. Open and closed matters:

Part 7. Referrals made and received:

Part 8. Client activity and location:

This is the first iteration of the Dashboards and they will continue to evolve over the coming months, but it is worth highlighting that some of the reports are only as up to date as the data that is contained within Actionstep. So if there is data that you do not think is accurate then this will give you the opportunity to rectify it (or challenge with the Hub). We will continue the projects to cleanse the data with you and again, thank you for your assistance with this.

Now – sit back, tune-in and enjoy the videos!

MANAGEMENT INFORMATION. We have been working very closely with the BQ Team in relation to our file opening processes and whilst this will be an ongoing project over the next few months, the first flag to wave is in relation to the application of the existing CDD risk tables.

Whilst the existing tables are still correct, it is fair to say that they are in need of a bit of an overhaul to make them a little more user-friendly. The plan is that this is going to be undertaken in June with the expectation being that training will be provided in July.

As this happens in the background however, there is going to be a greater focus on ensuring that all the boxes are ticked before clients and matters are opened. We recommend that you refer back to the CDD risk tables on the knowledge base of Actionstep in advance of engaging with your clients so that you have all of the necessary information and evidence for the Hub to open the matters promptly.

ACTIONSTEP - INTEGRATION WITH OFFICE365. As the project with Actionstep to integrate more closely with Office365 progresses, we are pleased to announce that you can now generate and amend documents directly to Office365 online without needing to open the desktop version.

Useful for all users of the system but especially so for Partners with Mac’s who do not have the benefits of operating in the Windows environment.

Using this function is very simple - for new documents, select and generate your chosen template from within the relevant matter. Then hover over the “open” selection in the toolbar and you will see a new option – “Open in Office Online”. Selecting this option will take you to Word Online, where you can draft or amend your documents. As it is the online version of Office365 your amendments will be automatically saved to Actionstep.

For existing documents, simply select the document and hover over the “open” selection and follow the same process. Easy peasy.

Actionstep is continuing to work on Office365 integration and we will, of course, keep you updated with these as they are ready for release.

SRA DIVERSITY DATA. Finally – you should all have received the email from Laura on Monday requesting the completion of a short survey to comply with the SRA’s requirements on diversity. As a quick reminder, the deadline for this is the 24th June. The gentlest of elbow’s in the ribs…
